K&L Gates in Chicago welcomes Alicia Hawley as e-Discovery Analysis & Technology (e-DAT) Counsel.  With more than two decades of experience, Hawley focuses on routine and complex e-discovery matters, best practices, case and narrative development, fact investigations, and discovery strategy.  She has represented Fortune 100 companies, banks, broker-dealers, C-suite executives, and financial institutions in investigations and prosecutions by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the US Department of Justice, the Illinois Inspector General, and various state Attorneys General.  In addition to her work focused on e-discovery, Hawley also maintains a practice related to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.  Prior to joining the firm, Hawley practiced e-DAT law at other AmLaw 50 law firms and graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

Clearwater Paper Hires Seasoned Securities Attorney

Harris Legal Search is pleased to announce that Marc Rome has joined Clearwater Paper in Spokane, WA as Associate General Counsel focused on securities and corporate governance.  Prior to joining Clearwater, Rome worked at T-Mobile as VP, Legal Affairs, Corporate Governance, Securities and Finance and Assistant Corporate Secretary; and eBay Inc. as VP, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and Assistant Secretary.  He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center.

Victoria Harris Speaks about In-House Recruiting at NALSC Conference

NALSC (National Association of Legal Search Consultants) invited Victoria Harris to speak at its October 20 conference hosted by Latham & Watkins in New York.  Victoria moderated a panel on in-house recruiting that covered topics including: (1) when and why companies work with external recruiters; (2) how to make successful attorney placements, including helping law firm candidates transition successfully to in-house; and (3) the nuts and bolts of a successful in-house recruiting practice, including how to support DEI efforts, complete challenging searches, and develop lasting relationships with employer clients.

NALSC (National Association of Legal Search Consultants) is the only organization representing the legal search profession.  The organization is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards by requiring adherence of its members to the NALSC Code of Ethics.  NALSC currently is comprised of 200+ member firms and individuals from all over the United States and Canada, as well as other international locations.  An increasing number of legal employers incorporate a clause requiring adherence to the NALSC Code of Ethics in their recruitment contracts.


International Defense Company Hires Government Contracts Counsel

Bryan Rowlands has joined Elbit America as Associate General Counsel serving as the company’s primary government contracts attorney.  He will be based in the Arlington, VA office.  Prior to joining Elbit, Rowlands worked fifteen years as a contracts expert at technology companies that supply the federal government.

Securities Attorney Joins Seattle Biopharma Omeros

Physicians Insurance Hires Counsel

Physicians Insurance has hired Kenny Hong to focus on insurance regulatory and business issues.  Hong joins from the Washington Attorney General’s office, where he advised UW Medicine on health law and regulatory issues.  Prior to serving in government, Hong was an insurance coverage attorney at Cozen O’Connor.
